Getting started

Requirements

Server, WordPress, and database requirements for running PeoplePress.

This area is still changing. Steps and screenshots may lag behind the current release.

Verified against the plugin entry point at peoplepress.php in the 1.0.0-alpha source. Items still marked below could not be confirmed in code and must not be treated as settled.

Plugin

FieldValue
Version1.0.0-alpha
Text domainpeoplepress
LicenseGPL2 or later

Server

RequirementValue
PHPTODO(verify): the plugin header declares no Requires PHP. Confirm the floor from composer.json and the PHPCompatibility target used in CI.
WordPressTODO(verify): the plugin header declares no Requires at least.
DatabaseTODO(verify): whether MySQL 8.0 / MariaDB 10.2 is a hard floor, and which queries require recursive CTEs.

The database question is the one to answer before launch, not after. If any query uses a recursive common table expression, MySQL 5.7 will fail at runtime rather than at activation, and the failure will surface as missing data rather than an error.

Dependencies

PeoplePress loads its own Composer autoloader from vendor/autoload.php, so the plugin package must be installed with dependencies present — a plain git clone of the source without composer install will fatal on activation.
